Using the Roster for Roster Management (Local Services Ads - Home Services Only)

Roster Management

Once you've created your roster, you will use the roster to manage the background check portion of your Local Services Ads application. We call this "Roster Management." As part of Roster Management, you may need to take the following actions:

  • Identify needed submissions
  • Send an individual business owner or employee their submission link
  • Send all individuals with pending submissions their submission links
  • Add a new employee or business owner (!) - see important note below
  • Remove an employee or business owner(!) - see important note below

Identify Needed Submissions

At any point in time during the application process, Evident may need a submission from you or from a member of your team. This could be an initial submission, or it could be a followup submission. If the status of your roster is "Collect Applicant Information", then it means that Evident requires a submission from one or more individuals on the roster. When this happens, either you or your worker will show up as "Pending Submission." This means that Evident has sent you or your worker a notification in the form of an email which contains a link that you or your worker need to use to provide the submission. Once we've received all the needed submissions at a given point in time for a user, the individual's "Submission Status" will update to Submission Received. Once all the individuals on the roster are listed as Submission Received the application status will move to "Processing Background Checks." You can read more about initial submissions here and followup submissions here. To understand more about Roster Status and what this means for your business, read this article.

Send a new submission link to a single user

If you know that your user has access to their inbox, but they simply can't find their prior email, you can click the "Email Link" button to send them a new link.

What if my user states they didn't receive the email from Evident?

If your user states they didn't receive the email from Evident, and you have already tried to email them a link, you can reach out to Evident via our Support form and our Support team can provide an individual with their link. The individual must be logged into their email in order to communicate with Evident and receive their link.

What if my user doesn't have access to their inbox?

If your user no longer has access to their inbox then they will not be able to complete the verification.

Heads Up!

  • Adding or removing an employee and business owners from your roster can cause challenges with your application.
  • Adding a business owner or employee very late in the application window can disrupt the timeline and cause your application to expire.
  • If possible, you should only add business owners or employees within the first couple of weeks after roster creation.
  • If you remove a employee from your roster and they don't complete a background check, that individual can no longer work on jobs that were sourced from Google Local Services Ads.
  • You are required to include all business owners on the application.
  • If you removed someone accidentally, they can be added back to the roster later. The person that has been added will need to access their submission link from the email that is sent to them in order for the background check to process correctly.

Add a Business Owner or an Employee

To add an employee or business owner, navigate to the employee section of the roster. At the bottom, find the language that says "Add an employee."
