Determining whether an email is safe to open can be challenging, as sophisticated phishing and scam attempts can make malicious emails appear legitimate. However, here are some indicators that can help you determine the verification email you received from Evident is safe to open:

  1. Sender's email address: Although the email will appear to be coming from your client, if you hover over the sender and view the email address it will always be coming from an evidentid.com email address.
  2. Call-to-Action Button: In a verification email, you should one button to submit your certificate(s) of insurance (COIs). Hover over this button to view the actual URL destination. It must take you to an Evident link in order to be safe and secure.
  3. Contact Information: The contact information should be familiar with no misspellings. Be sure to hover over any email addresses that may be linked to determine their actual destination.
  4. Footer: Evident's logo should always be at the bottom of the email.

If you have any hesitations about links, please do not forward or email your COIs to your client instead. This does not guarantee your COI will make it into our system and can cause a non-compliant status. Instead, please reach out to your client directly to confirm their partnership with Evident.
