Overview

Custom Agreement Review allows you to present agreement terms, disclosures, or consent language to your third parties and record their response directly within the Evident Network submission process.

Instead of relying on external emails, offline attestations, or manual follow-ups, this feature enables you to ask a clear question, present your own agreement text, and capture an explicit response from each entity as part of their verification.

Custom Agreement Review is available out of the box and does not require any special enablement. It is designed to be flexible, easy to configure, and applicable across a wide range of third‑party risk scenarios.

What This Feature Does

When Custom Agreement Review is included in a verification:

  • Your third parties are shown agreement text that you define.
  • They must select one of the available response options before completing their submission.
  • Their selection is recorded and evaluated as part of the verification.
  • Based on how you configure outcomes, the response can either satisfy the requirement or result in additional follow‑up requirements.

This allows you to move beyond simple document collection and instead capture intent, acknowledgement, or decisions that matter to your risk program.

Key Benefits

Capture Clear Consent and Acknowledgement

You can require third parties to explicitly acknowledge policies, disclosures, or terms, creating a consistent record of their response for audit and governance purposes.

Support Conditional Risk Workflows

Responses can be used to determine what happens next. For example, if a third party declines certain terms, you can require alternate documentation or coverage instead of stopping the process entirely.

Reduce Manual Follow‑Ups

By capturing responses during submission, you avoid chasing acknowledgements outside the platform and reduce back‑and‑forth with vendors.

Flexible Enough for Many Use Cases

The same feature can support simple acknowledgements, binary accept/decline decisions, or more nuanced selections, depending on how you configure it.

Common Use Cases

The examples below illustrate how clients commonly use Custom Agreement Review in third‑party risk management programs.

Policy or Disclosure Acknowledgement

Ask third parties to confirm that they have read and acknowledged a policy, code of conduct, or disclosure. The response is recorded for visibility and audit purposes, without affecting compliance.

Accept or Decline Standard Terms

Require third parties to explicitly accept standard terms or conditions. A decline can be flagged for follow‑up or review.

Election of Risk Treatment

Allow third parties to select how they intend to meet a requirement, such as accepting client‑provided coverage, using their own coverage, or choosing an alternate option.

Conditional Requirements Based on Response

Use the selected response to determine what additional information is required. For example, if certain options are declined, the third party may need to provide additional documentation or coverage.

These patterns help you model real‑world decisions while keeping the submission experience clear and structured.

What to Expect as a Client

A Simple, Guided Experience for Third Parties

Third parties are presented with clear agreement text and a small set of response options. They must select one option to proceed, which keeps submissions straightforward and predictable.

One Agreement per Verification Context

Each verification supports a single Custom Agreement Review. This helps ensure clarity and avoids conflicting or overlapping agreements.

Responses Are Recorded as‑Is

The platform records exactly what the third party selected. If agreement terms or options change later, previously recorded responses remain visible, and affected entities may need to be re‑evaluated.

Not a Digital Signature or Contract

Custom Agreement Review is a click‑through acknowledgement. It records a response but does not replace formal contracts or legally binding signature workflows.

Considerations and Trade‑Offs

While Custom Agreement Review is flexible, it is intentionally focused and lightweight:

  • Third parties select from predefined options; they do not provide free‑text explanations.
  • Each verification includes only one agreement review.
  • Agreement responses do not expire automatically.
  • This feature records acknowledgement and decisions but does not manage contract enforcement or legal workflows.

These trade‑offs keep the feature easy to use, scalable, and broadly applicable across risk programs.

Getting Started

Custom Agreement Review is available to all clients and can be added directly to your risk profiles. Once configured, it becomes part of the normal submission flow for your third parties.

If you’re exploring new ways to capture consent, acknowledgements, or conditional decisions, this feature provides a practical and scalable starting point.
